The Pumpkin Party

Because I was away for the weekend I was not able to attend the Pumpkin Party for children and families on October 25. I have heard great comments about the event. It is a great thing for families to be having fun together, getting to know other families, and getting more connected at church. I often say that we cannot grow them if we cannot keep them. Having fun is, in my opinion, one of the things that the church should be about. If we grow closer in the fun stuff, we will stay closer in the serious stuff.

Thanks to Sheryle and her staff for their hard work and dedication to Christ and families!

69 plus 10 equals a great weekend at Lake Champion

On the same weekend as the Pumpkin Party we had 79 people away on a weekend at Lake Champion. This included:

  • 44 middle school kids on the middle school camp weekend
  • 7 adults leading the middle school weekend
  • 2 high school boys co-leading on the middle school weekend
  • 23 high school and college kids on WORK CREW: cooking, cleaning and serving on the middle school weekend.
  • 3 adults leading the work crew weekend.

Despite the rain, the less than enough sleep, the hundreds of meals to cook and serve and clean up from, we all had a great time. This is the first time we have had our HS kids do WORK CREW on the same weekend as we did middle school camp. I think it worked out great.

Thanks to all who worked hard to make this weekend work!

Thanks for the opportunity to serve.

In Christ,

Randy
