“Connecting with your life purpose and Day Away”
Connecting with Life Purpose…
How has God shaped you, with your gifts and your experience, to serve in this world? Pastor Mark Mast is leading a seminar on living a missional life. This seminar will be based on Mark’s doctoral work, and is geared toward helping people discover and put into practice their own life’s purpose.
The next meeting is Tuesday evening, November 24, at Beekman Road. They meet in the Community Room at 7:30 and will run on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month.
Day Away …
I love the quote from Geri Scazzero, “silence is one of the languages of God.”
In the second half of our series on Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, we emphasized the need for Christians to build practices into their lives that help them to connect with God. Two of the practices we mentioned were silence and solitude.
As a church we have developed a practice which helps us to gather, slow down, have some silence and solitude, and step into a spiritual focus. This is accomplished in our annual Day Away retreat. Our Day Away will include some time in groups, time alone with scripture and ourselves, and times of silence, prayer and nothing.
I hope you will join us. I have included the information below.
