What’s the Buzz? December 14, 2009
Posted on December 14, 2009 by Birgit Chisholm under "The Buzz",

As Winter approaches (officially on December 21st) please remember to check in on your elderly neighbors. Also, why not invite them to church on Christmas Eve? There are cards in the Sunday bulletin that you can give them that lists all our services.

Joys and Concerns:  We rejoice with Jared Lafitte and his bride-to-be, Amanda-Rachel Heilman, as they marry on January 9th in North Carolina. Jared was our summer intern a few years ago. This week we remember Michael Kleid who is having hernia surgery tomorrow and Kyle Mast whose surgery is this Wednesday in our prayers.

CHRISTMAS SERVICES

4:00 p.m. Children’s Service – “Happy Birthday Jesus”

This service is geared specifically towards children up to age 10, although any age is welcome to attend.  Special music will be provided by our two children’s choirs: the Cherubs, and the Little Lambs.  The birth of Jesus will be told through story and drama and we will sing simple carols and end the service with a birthday party and cake.

6:30 p.m. Traditional Service

8:30 p.m. Traditional Service

These services will be identical and traditional in style.  Special music will be provided by our wonderful Chancel Choir, who will bless us with beautiful and moving songs.  Christmas carols will abound, instruments will rejoice, and Rev. Holbrook will deliver a Christmas message:

 11:00 p.m.  Reflective Service

This service will blend together traditional carols with a variety of instruments, with a more modern feel.  We will reflect on the birth of Jesus in a peaceful, candlelight setting.

4:00 p.m. Odyssey Service at Tymor Park

We will be celebrating the Christmas Story at Odyssey this Christmas Eve.  We will worship together through music (our very own Odyssey Choir!), the telling of the Christmas story like you have never seen before, and a wonderful time of fellowship as we join together in the Good News that Jesus Christ is here!
