The Buzz is back!
Joys and Concerns: Lots of joys this week: We rejoice with two families that are celebrating the birth of first grandchildren! Eileen & Vinny Bellino’s son Brian and his wife Kathy had a new daughter on January 20, Giuliana Marie; and Duncan and Birgit’s daughter Sarah and her husband Jay had a new son on January 12, Daniel Robert. All babies, parents and grandparents are doing fine! Pete & Dinalee Hernandez celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. Jennifer El-Sherif passed her exams for her PhD! Our blood drive resulted in 37 pints of blood, which is in great demand this time of year. Thanks to all who participated! This Sunday there were numerous requests for those who have lost loved ones recently, including Suzanne Mock, whose father died and Mark Johnson, who lost his sister. Please pray for these families. Continue to pray for those in our Sunday bulletin’s prayer corner.

A few questions have arisen regarding our Connection cards. Thank you to those who complete them every time they are in worship. Please take the time to do this, it is important to help us maintain our records. Here are some things to do when completing your card:
- Print or write legibly.
- Include your first AND last name. Everyone should get their own card in their bulletin. If you share, be sure to include everyone’s first name. While it is easier to write “The Smith Family”, we may have many Smith families, and won’t know who actually attended.
- Feel free to put any notes/questions on the cards – there is someone in the office that reads EVERY card submitted. You should be contacted within a week of submitting your question.
Here are some things NOT to do:
- Do not fill out a card for your child, if they attended Sunday school during the service. The Sunday school takes their own attendance.
- I know it seems “unnatural” to just put your name on a card, but unless your information has changed, we ask you NOT to complete the remainder of the front of the card. Our data entry volunteers have to double check any information on the card, so this makes additional work for them.
- Also, if you are not sure if we have your email, here’s a way to check: if you get church emails (this Buzz, Randy’s Pulse, Mark’s Bridge and Taylor’s In Touch) then we have you on our list! If you are not getting these emails and would like to do so, please put your email address on your card!!! And, last, if you are getting these emails and would rather not, just let us know! We are currently looking into a more reliable email alternative, and we need to have our email lists as up-to-date as possible. Thank you all for your help with this.
Don’t forget to check out our website, HopewellReformedChurch.org.
Hopewell Reformed Church is on facebook – become a fan!!! (If you are on facebook, you will know what that means. We will be sending reminders of events to which you can invite your friends and family!)
And that is all the buzz there is this week!
Your sister in Christ,
Birgit
