Wishing you all a good week! Last week’s Buzz is on our website. I was unable to send it out to more than 20% of our email list. We have been having trouble with our server and hope to find a more reliable way of sending out emails soon. If you are receiving duplicates of our church-wide emails, please bear with us.  The software we are presently using sometimes loses the server connection and does not tell us which emails have already gone out, so we have to restart the entire list! Thank you for your patience!

Joys and Concerns

As we hear of another snow storm coming, please pray for those that have to travel to work, no matter what the weather, and especially those that keep our roads safe for us all.   Please continue to pray for those in our congregation dealing with health issues, particularly Norma Roddy, Bill Weeks and Judy Phillips. Also continue to pray for those in our Sunday bulletin’s prayer corner.

Worship Information

Beekman Road – Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, Feb 17th with worship at 7:30PM; Return, Repent, and Renew. Please join us for a service reflecting God’s mercy. Our theme for Lent this year is “A Clearing Season”. Our focus will be to remove obstacles that keep us from God and clear space for Him, His will for us, and His grace. On Sundays we will look to clear space for God. On the first Sunday of Lent (2/21), Pastor Mark will guide us through ” Exploring the Wilderness”, based on Luke 4:1-13. Pastor Holbrook will follow each Sunday after with the themes: First Clearing, Natural Rhythms, New Growth, and Weathering Storms. Wednesday evenings  (2/24 – 3/24) we gather for soup supper, fellowship and worship. This year worship will take on a more expressive, creative format, each week being unique. This will be an opportunity to explore worship though the arts: music, dance, visual art and drama. These services will be an example of the style of worship we are considering for once-a-month Saturday evenings. Please join us, all are welcome. Soup Supper will begin at 6:00, and worship will follow at 7:15 for approximately 30 minutes.

Gathering begins at 8:45 AM with Crossroads leading worship. Sunday school for The Gathering: Children in PreK-5 start in worship with their families; youth in grades 6-12 start in the Youth House. This time of year there are many events in our community that might be of interest to members of our congregation. Often we get flyers in the mail regarding these events. The flyers are posted on the bulletin board outside the church office. Stop by and check them out! I also try to mention the events in our church bulletin, so if you have a flyer you would like posted, please leave it on my desk so I can be sure it also gets in the bulletin as well. Thank you!

Don’t forget to check out our website, HopewellReformedChurch.org.

And that is all the buzz there is this week!

Your sister in Christ,

Birgit
