HRC WOMEN’S SPRING RETREAT coming April 13th and 14th at Warwick Conference Center in Warwick, N.Y. Our guest speaker this year will be Reena Kirspel, and worship leader is Lorraine Nelson Wolfe. Also, back by popular demand, Diane Volk will provide yoga for those that are interested. This is a great opportunity to get to know other women of HRC! We have planned an early evening party for all who are interested in membership, whether you are new to the church, or have been around a while. At 5 PM on Sunday, October 23, we will be gathering at the home of Karen & George Gomba for food, fellowship and discussion about HRC. This group will be forming a membership group that will meet on consecutive weeks and then celebrating with the church in membership on November 27. From January through June, 2011 young people who are interested in exploring and confessing their faith are invited to be a part of the confirmation process. If you were baptized, or are interested in being baptized, this is a time to either affirm vows spoken for you in baptism, or declare your faith as an adult and be baptized. The journey starts this coming Wednesday, January 12 at 7:30 PM. We will have an organizational meeting at church for interested young people and one parent. We would like to develop a Youth Missions Team. Led by Lourdes Kleid, our coordinator of youth missions, this team would help oversee youth missions in many aspects including: finding ways our youth can serve, keeping them informed, post trip involvement in missions and helping them to respond in faith. Advocacy, training, leadership development, mission education and administration of funds will also be areas the team will oversee It is our responsibility to pool our resources to guide young people as they live out a life of mission in their communities and around the world.
