For the past number of years many men from Hopewell have joined together with other men for this weekend away. This year Pastor Holbrook will be the featured speaker and Tony Congi will be leading the worship band with other guys from Hopewell. It is a great weekend and a great event to invite guys to. The theme of the talks this year will be on “The Season’s of a Man’s Life”. Matt Feehan’s convertible will be one of the props that will be used in helping men negotiate the different transitions of life. Conference brochures are behind the kiosk. SUMMER CHRISTCARE TRAINING SET

HOPEWELL RIDERS RIDE AGAIN

The ChristCare group, the Hopewell Riders, will be riding together on the third Saturday of each month. We will begin May 15 and continue through October. If you would like to join in a twenty mile bike ride at around 13-15 mph that includes biblical equipping and community building join us at 8:30 AM in the church parking lot. Taylor Holbrook and Julie Martyn Baker will co-lead this group.

RCW SPRING CONFERENCE

You are invited to attend the Spring Conference of the Reformed Church Women of the Hudson Valley on Saturday, April 17th at St. John’s Reformed Church in Red Hook, NY. Beverly Kipp, Health Minister Coordinator at St. John’s, is the guest speaker. Her topic is “Getting to the Therefore – How the Word moves us from inspiration to action.” We will carpool from HRC at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be provided at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $6. There will be a collection of canned goods for local food pantries and a mission collection to be split between Haiti relief and Doug Leonard’s mission work at the Al Amana Center in Oman. A new ChristCare group for women will be forming this spring centered around what it takes to make and sustain lifestyle changes that promote health. To move toward becoming all that God has intended, we will be looking not only at the foods we eat and physical exercise, but also on what keeps us from fully committing to change, and the role that Christian faith plays. We will be using 2 books to guide our discussions: Lose It For Life by Stephen Arterburn and Dr. Linda Mintle and Women, Food and God by Geneen Roth. As part of the group’s missional service, we would like to plan a speaker series for the congregation and the community that will address topics of cooking and nutrition, exercise, mental health, etc..
