My newest phrase that I have been sharing with folks is to “Embrace the Grace.”  As we talk and they share their pains, their frustrations, their feelings of not measuring up to God, I encourage them to “Embrace the Grace.”  This grace comes in many forms.  Sometimes it means giving yourself a break and accepting God’s grace through Christ, and sometimes it means accepting love and support from those that Christ has put in your life to offer his grace.   This second piece is where I have trouble “Embracing the Grace.” Read more »

Summertime and the living is easy!  As you make your summer plans, don’t forget to include a time for worship. “167 Was My Idea”

 I appeal to you therefore, brothers and sisters,  by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual  worship.  (Romans 12:1)

 This Sunday, June 27, at 10 AM under the tent at Hopewell all six of our worshipping communities will be introduced to our 167 Vision which states: We seek to be a 167 church, putting our faith into practice every hour of every day. Being a follower of Christ is not simply about an hour on Sunday, but a life lived every moment for the glory of God.

 Mike Reynolds will begin the message and he is going to tell you: “167 Living was my idea.”   Much like the Windows 7 commercial, you can picture Mike dreaming mid-sermon one Sunday:  “How do I put this into practice, not just one hour on Sunday, but every hour of every day?” Read more »

Hi Mark you said keep the THANKS coming, so here goes.  I thank everyone at HRC for the wonderful celebration they gave me at the two coffee hours on the 18th April, and a special thanks to Jackie, her husband, Randy, and their son Richie for supplying the wonderful sheet cakes, the largest I have ever seen, and all the decorations, balloons etc.  It is a birthday I will never forget,but after that one, I am not celebrating anymore!!   Thanks and God bless you all.

“Women Who Changed the World”

Join us this summer as we seek to learn from women throughout the Bible; their roles in history, their examples, and the lessons we can learn.

We begin July 11 with a guest speaker, Mrs. Anna Holbrook, mother of Taylor. Mrs. Holbrook has played an active role in women’s work in the RCA . She will share the impact women have made in the of life of the church.

Mike DiBrango will be collecting eyglasses and sunglasses for New Eyes for the Needy., a non-profit volunteer organization whose mission is to improve the vision of the less fortunate in the United States and throughout the world. A collection box will be set up in Fellowship Hall until August 1st. Please search around your home to see what you can bring to the collection box. CONTACT Mike DiBrango with any questions.
