LOVE INC VOLUNTEER TRAINING

love inc Mid-Hudson Love In the Name of Christ is holding a Volunteer Orientation/Training workshop on Saturday, March 3, from 10 – 11 am.  This is a perfect opportunity to learn more about Love INC, its ministries and its impact, and explore volunteer options in a ministry that is serving people in need.  All are welcome – no obligation.  The information session is scheduled for New Beginnings Church, 35 DeGarmo Road in Poughkeepsie.  If you’re planning to attend, please RSVP to info@mhlinc.org

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Merillat House

Looking for volunteers to help out at the Merillat House on the next two Saturdays, February 25 and March 3 beginning at 9am. There is still a lot of work to be done with cleaning and getting rid of  stuff. If you can help, please contact Kurt Tegtmeier.

SUNDAY SCHOOL FAMILY FUN NIGHT

HRC GROUND CREW

HRC Church GroundsWe are looking for someone who can help a couple of hours a week to maintain the HRC grounds during the mowing season (April – November). Also, we need someone who can help periodically in maintaining/servicing our grounds equipment (rider mowers, hand mowers, blowers, weed trimmers, chain saw, etc.). If you can help, please contact Bill Proal at 223-1607.  

EASTER DAWN BREAKFAST TEAM

Mark you calendars! Sunday, April 8th is Easter Sunday, and you know what that means? Well, it means an early morning service, and then….the EASTER DAWN BREAKFAST!! It was truly a wonderful time last year, and I am looking to see who is interested in helping out this year. I will warn you in advance, that we start at 5:00AM on Easter Morning, and setup will hopefully be the day before. SUNDAY NIGHT YOUTH WORSHIP IS BACK!

Beginning February 26, 2012, there will be a Sunday evening youth worship service on the last Sunday of every month from 6:30 – 8:00 PM. Families with no ties to our youth group are welcome to worship with the youth and their families.  Led by Lynnette Jee, the band is intergenerational.  Warren Jee will be delivering the message.  Everyone is invited!  Contact Warren and Lynnette Jee with any questions or comments.

The theme for our Lenten season at HRC is based on Richard Foster’s book Celebration of Discipline. .  This is a Christian classic that is now in its forty-fifth printing!  Copies of the book are available at the kiosk.  The cost is $14.50.  Checks should be made payable to HRC; please note “Celebration of Discipline” on the memo line.

YOUTH RETREAT – CAMP TACONIC – MARCH 9-12

TACONIC RETREAT: There will be a spiritual retreat at Camp Taconic in Milan, NY on March 9th through 11th.  This is for ALL kids, grades 6th through 12th, and parents, listen up.  There will be sledding, man hunt, basketball, inflatable jousting, lots of fun, friends and God. While we want everyone to go, those that are going to be confirmed in June are particularly encouraged to be there.   Read more »

2012 WOMEN’S SPRING RETREAT – RESERVE THE DATE

HRC WOMEN’S SPRING RETREAT coming April 13th and 14th at Warwick Conference Center in Warwick, N.Y.  Our guest speaker this year will be Reena Kirspel, and worship leader is Lorraine Nelson Wolfe.  Also, back by popular demand, Diane Volk will provide yoga for those that are interested.  This is a great opportunity to get to know other women of HRC!  Additional information and registration forms are available at the kiosk.  Sign ups are on a first come, first served basis.  Don’t miss out on the fun and fellowship of this 24-hour retreat!  Need more information? Contact Pam Hansen.

LOVING STITCHES

The next meeting for the group will be on Monday, February 6,  2012, at 10:30 A.M. in the HRC Youth House.  We will continue making the sweaters for Warm Up America.  Yarn will be available for those that need more to complete their sweaters for the month of February.  Read more »
