NEW CLASS STRUCTURE – BRIGHT BEGINNINGS

 Bright Beginnings is offering two days a week classes for three year olds (Tuesday and Thursday).

Four year olds will now have the option of attending for three or five days a week.

All classes will be 2 1/2 hour sessions.

We have openings  for September in all sections.

EVENING SERVICE 2nd & 4th WEDS AT 7:30PM

We will have a respite worship service called Journey.  Respite is defined as ”an interval of rest or relief.” All are invited to attend this service on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month. Come and enjoy a break from your hectic schedule! Worship will begin at 7:30 PM in the sanctuary at Hopewell Reformed Church  on  Beekman Rd

The American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive here at HRC on June 1 from 2:30 – 8:30 PM.  All donors are invited.

MOM’S GROUP TO START JUNE 5th

If you are a mom with young children at home and are looking to connect with other moms, this is the place for you! Give and receive support and encouragement from other moms; talk about parenting; pray for each other; all while our children play in a Christ-centered environment.

Check off Mom’s Group on your connection card and come to the HRC nursery on June 5 from 10:00 – 11:30 AM!

 We will be recognizing our college and high school graduates on Sunday, June 17.

If you are a 2012 graduate, please complete the information on your connection card, so you can be added to our list of honorees!

MERILLAT HOUSE MEETING Sunday May 20th

There is a meeting on Sunday, May 20 following the Foundations service in the Consistory Room.  If you would like to help get this house ready to be sold, please come to this important meeting.

Stephen Ministers Care

When was the last time someone really listened to you? We’re talking about that undistracted, full-attention kind of listening. That’s one of the ways Stephen Ministers care for others. We need [more] Stephen Ministers to care for those who are making that long journey through the valley of a life crisis. SOFTBALL FEVER

The HRC softball team is starting up again!  Their first game is May 10 at at the Fishkill Baptist Church (our home field).  Games begain at 6:30 PM. Other games in May are: May 15 (at Grace Bible Church), May 17 (at Bowdoin Park),  May 22 (at Fishkill Nazarene Church), May 25, 29 and 31 (all at Fishkill Baptist). Come cheer on the team! A shredder truck from HV Shred will visit two HVFCU branches this month for our ever popular shredding events. Members are welcome to bring their confidential materials to either branch for shredding between the hours stated below. LOVING STITCHES

Our knitting and crocheting group will have its next meeting on Monday,  May 7, 2012 at 10:30 A.M. in the Youth House.  Please bring all completed lap blankets.  Our last project before the summer break will be the 7″ X 9″ patches for Warm Up America.  Many thanks to the Saints who, during the past year, have completed items and/or who have left donated yarn in the Youth House storage areas. Contact :Barby Richardson

DRIVERS NEEDED: ODYSSEY

Odyssey has a van-load of folks who need a ride each week to worship.  We are looking for 12 people to commit to driving the church van (training included) once a quarter.  Talk to Pastor Mark if interested

MERILLAT HOUSE PROJECT

Within the next few weeks, renovations will begin on the Merillat residence. We are looking for skilled and unskilled labor to help. If you are a plumber, carpenter, electrician, landscaper, concrete/masonry, roofer, or painter, and can donate some time to this project, please e-mail Kurt Tegtmeier  and put your skill in the subject line. If you don’t have any particular skills but still want to help, email Kurt and put in the subject line “I can help”. Please let him know your availability as well. He will be putting all this information together and contact you regarding the schedule.

Weekly Chancel Flowers

If you would like to place flowers on the chancel in memory of someone, or in honor of a special person or occasion, please choose a date and complete the necessary information in the FLOWER NOTEBOOK located on the kiosk. HRC FAMILY RETREAT-Heifer Project

“Serving in Response to His Love”

Friday – Sunday, July 6-8, 2012

Join HRC as we serve and learn together at Heifer Project’s Overlook Farm. Overlook Farm is a demonstration farm complete with gardens and animals including water buffalo, yaks and traditional farm animals such as pigs, goats and more. Our weekend will include projects such as farm chores, and special projects, as well as educational times as we learn about alleviating hunger. One night we will stay in the global village at the farm which gives us a unique, first-hand look at the challenges surrounding hunger and poverty by experiencing a developing country! Read more »

Never Outdated – Stephen Ministry

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9).

Christian care is never outdated. God’s command that we love one another is the same now as it was thousands of years ago. How are you showing God’s love to others?
